Welcome
Welcome to Southpaws Playschool, a free range canine daycare where our focus is all about dogs! We are a climate controlled, indoor facility located in south Austin, Texas.
We also provide a variety of products and services, including puppy crate training, obedience classes and training seminars.
We're located two miles south of downtown Austin at 2324B South Lamar (just north of Bluebonnet).
A Typical Day. . .
Southpaws dogs have fun, burn energy, and learn new skills. We truly enjoy watching each dog make new canine and human friends, and receive mental stimulation while playing games with staff and interacting with their play group.
We separate the dogs into three play groups, based on play style, personality and size. All dogs play with their group in our climate controlled playroom and go outside with their group for fresh air, ball playing and potty breaks several times each day. Nap time is from 12:30 till 2:30 p.m. A variety of music is played to help stimulate positive play and relax the dogs. Timeout facilities are available when needed to promote a healthy pack environment.
All dogs receive individual attention, and we are happy to report on your dog's behavior and activities at the end of each play day. We also watch your pet closely and do our best to note any potential health or grooming issues we may observe.
Our Role in Your Dog's Life
At Southpaws Playschool we recognize the innate intelligence of dogs and the essential companionship and joy they offer their human caretakers. Our goal is to support you in meeting a good balance of exercise, training and affection needs for your dog, regardless of his/her temperament or background. We are proud of the many dogs we've helped learn to be outstanding family and community members.
Our canine daycare strives to provide a safe, pleasant and stimulating place for you to leave your dog during working hours. We have extensive training and experience in pack behavior and have designed our programs to give your dog a fun, active place to exercise, play and build better social skills with dogs and people.
